Our Curriculum Intent

The intent of geography teaching at St Andrews is to inspire pupils’ curiosity and fascination about the world and its people. Through careful planning and teaching, our curriculum will equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources, and natural and human environments. As pupils move through the school, their growing knowledge and experiences about the world will help them to deepen their understanding of the relationship between physical and human resources and the formation of the landscapes and environments. 

• Geography field trips and enrichment activities will be planned to support and embed their skills and knowledge. 

• Where appropriate, there will be a practical and hands on approach to the curriculum. 

We aim that they will regard Geography as exciting and it will nurture a lifelong interest in Geography. 

We will teach courageous advocacy for the stewardship of the environment.
